Our Teen Camp is a great option for teens that love art and might be too old for, or bored by traditional day camps. Each one-week session will focus intensively on a single topic. Our goal is to instill in each camper the skills needed to continue to explore the subject independently.

Teen Campers should dress appropriately for art and bring a snack each day. Full-day campers should also bring a lunch to be escorted to lunch and their next afternoon camp. See Camp FAQ for more info.

Please note: Subjects listed are options – choose one subject for each half-day weekly session. Materials are included for all camps, except where noted in the camp descriptions.

CaravanKids Summer Workshop

NEW PALTZ – CaravanKids Summer Workshop with The Vanaver Caravan @ Stone Mountain Farm at The Center for Symbolic Studies

CaravanKids Summer Workshop, held at Stone Mountain Farm, introduces children to the wonderful world of dance! CK Week is so much more than a dance program – it’s a full week of adventure, movement, art, imagination, and creativity!

Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, 2019

and/or

Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19, 2019

Full day: 9 am – 3 pm, $375

Half day: 9 am – 12 pm, $250

Drawing from the talent and imagination of each child, CK week builds a group of trusting, adventurous, and gifted kids who learn to celebrate the endless joys of dance, music and childhood.

During the morning sessions, Caravan Kids are guided through a series of creative movement and beginner modern lessons, learning folk music, stories, rhythms, and multi-cultural dance traditions. The end of the week culminates in a dance sharing presentation and potluck with all the Caravan Kid families.

The afternoons are for exploration! Students engage in intricate (and often very messy) arts-and-crafts projects, cooperative outdoor games, nature hikes and magical scavenger hunts through the fields and trails of the magical Stone Mountain Farm. (Every year, we meet a fairy!)

WAPPINGERS FALLS – 4th Wall Productions Summer Theater Camp @ St. Mary’s School

Your child will experience one of the most acclaimed theatre programs in the Tri-State area when you sign them up for 4th Wall Theatrical Production’s 2019 Summer Theatre Camp program –  now celebrating our 19th year!

WEEK 1: JULY 8 – JULY 12
Musical Theatre

Our intensive week-long musical theatre camp teaches your child the entire process of putting on a musical by actually producing a musical in one week. It is fast-paced as every child is given a chance to shine and stretch their musical abilities. Reading music, harmony, melody, choreography and blocking, as well as backstage work such as sets, props, and costumes are all part of the program.

WEEK 2: JULY 15 – JULY 19
Improv

Do you want to sharpen your child’s wit and ability to think on her or his feet? During our week-long session, your child will learn the techniques and rules necessary to put on short and long term improvisational scenes and shows. This helps develop the understanding of sharing a stage with other actors and learning to let go of control of a story.

WEEK 3: JULY 22 – JULY 26
Acting

In our week-long acting camp, your child will learn every aspect of the theatre world. The children participate in every aspect of the show during the course of the week with the creation of costumes, sets, and props along with learning about storytelling, script reading, character development, pantomime, improvisation and more. Confidence building and public speaking skills are learned through theatre games focusing on eye contact and projection.
