We build safe, fun, collaborative communities in which writers experiment with different forms of writing related to the theme and focus of the camp. Writers have opportunities to workshop their writing with peers and teachers, preparing a final piece to share at a celebratory reading and publish in a group anthology.

    Wednesday, August 11, 2021

    7 – 8:30 pm

    Tickets are Pay-as-you-wish.

Join us as we explore and discover the diversity of native bees that often go unnoticed and under-appreciated. New York is home to nearly 400 species of native pollen bees that have developed unique techniques and relationships with native flowers that make them efficient and indispensable pollinators. This is a virtual program.

We will discuss ways to help our pollinators including planting flowers, combating invasive species, and stopping the use of harmful insecticides. Audiences will leave informed, delighted, and prepared to take action on their behalf of our native pollinators.

The founder of Native Beeology, Timothy J. Stanley is the Assistant Director at the Fresh Air Fund’s Sharpe Reservation. Past President of New York State Outdoor Education Association (NYSOEA) and currently serves as the President of the Stony Kill Foundation. He is an avid photographer, and a lifelong student and teacher of the outdoors.

    Tickets are Pay-as-you-wish.

Program to take place over Zoom. Participants will receive the access code/link upon registration and a follow-up email with a link to the program a day before the event.
