Now that we have the tools and materials we need to build a shelter, we will learn how to create a fully-functioning wigwam! We’ll learn about the importance of wigwams and other Lenape shelters such as longhouses. We’ll also learn how these living styles affected Lenape culture.

Join Nature Educators to learn about the habitats of some of our local wildlife, and use your imagination to create homes for toads, fairies or other whimsical creatures! Go on a guided nature walk to look for burrows and homes of animals for inspiration in designing your own natural homes. After collecting items along the trail, design a Toad Abode or Fairy House inspired by what you learned and observed, and then create your dream Toad Abode or Fairy Home to take home!
