In this one-day workshop, participants will design and construct their own grocery tote bag. The instructor will cover basic pattern-making and hand-sewing techniques. Optional Kit: 1 yard fabric, a spool of thread, needle and chalk pencil.

Mary Calvi’s 2019 novel Dear George, Dear Mary, reignited the discussion surrounding the potential relationship between George Washington and Mary Philipse. Once written off and forgotten to history, Calvi’s research shined a light on how much of a role Yonkers, the Philipse family and the daughter of a prominent Loyalist had on pre-Revolutionary War America, including impacting Washington’s heart. Join us on a guided tour as we explore the narratives surrounding their relationship and lasting results that potentially altered two countries futures!

This workshop will focus on drawing, painting, writing, and collage techniques to document life experiences, emotional states, and narratives with an emphasis on using art as a creative tool for healing. Creating works that journal life experiences will be the primary focus of this workshop. Open to high school students and adults who aim to use art as a tool for introspective reflection using mixed media to build skills for unconventional journaling techniques. This program will fit the bill, so have them join our online 4-H Vet Science Club! This program will introduce youth to the importance of animal health in a wide variety of species. Youth will hear from experts in the vet science field as well as engage in some hands-on activities and learning.
