Come for a special evening of music by a quintet from the Albany Symphony, paired with the one-of-a-kind sunset vista from Olana’s East Lawn. Bring a picnic basket and relax on your own blanket or in your own chairs as the sun sets over the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains.
Albany Symphony oboist Grace Shryock curated a delightful program featuring a variety of creative voices to match the beauty and inspiration of Olana’s setting. The Albany Symphony Woodwind Quintet features Xue Su, Grace Shryock, Pascal Archer, Dan Wions and Josh Butcher.
This special free event is part of TrailBlazeNY, Albany Symphony’s 2022 American music festival celebrating the completion of New York’s Empire State Trail. Presented in partnership by the Albany Symphony and New York State Parks.

MAY 22 – The Wonders of Weather: Enjoy a variety of activities to learn about and enjoy the day’s weather. Rain or shine! For all ages.
JUNE 5 – I Spy Nature: Nature observation meets creativity as we make 3-dimensional collages with corresponding riddles. Inspired by the “I Spy” book series. Best for ages 10 and older.
Summer Family Programs
JUNE 26 – Bee Smart: Discover the importance of bees and how we can help them. Make a mason bee house! For ages 5 and up.
JULY 10 – Lovely Lepidoptera: Come learn to identify, search for, attract, and safely observe butterflies and moths. For ages 5 and up.
AUGUST 28 – Beach in a Box: A fascinating look at the beauty and science of seashells. Make a small “Beach in a Box” to take home. For ages 5 and up.
SEPTEMBER 18 – Be a Rockhound: A fun, hands-on introduction to rock collecting. For ages 5 and up.
Fall Family Programs
SEPTEMBER 25 – The Art of Clouds: Learn cloud identification and appreciation through sky watching and the creation of cloudscapes. For ages 5 and up.
OCTOBER 16 – Science of the Season: Enjoy a variety of science, math, and art activities with the help of our beautiful trees. For ages 5 and up.
OCTOBER 23 – Apple Cider Time: Step back in time and experience an autumn agricultural tradition, cider making! For all ages.
OCTOBER 30 – Birds of Prey Up Close: A live raptor presentation by wildlife rehabilitator, Bill Streeter of the Delaware Valley Raptor Center. For all ages.
NOVEMBER 5 – Tracks & Trails: Into the woods we go, to search for and interpret the clues left by the wildlife that live at the preserve. For all ages.

When preschool is out…it’s time for June Mini-Camp! Join us for fun and enrichment at our popular STEM program. Your child will spend the week being a nature detective, learning about the plant and animal wildlife around Sheldrake’s 60 acres. Time will be spent exploring the natural world, listening to nature stories, crafting, and playing games.

The Village Bandstand Concerts began in 1985 when a new bandstand was built in the village square. The concerts provide musical entertainment for residents of the greater Cornwall area and foster community.
The village holds concerts on Tuesday evenings in the summer. People sit on lawn chairs and on the lawn surrounding the bandstand, enjoying the music and chat with neighbors and friends.

Rock & Roll Concerts Just for KIDS!
This is no boring kid’s event! We’re inviting kids from ages 1 to 10 to enjoy their own Rock & Roll concert, presented by NYC’s Rock and Roll Playhouse!
