10 am – 1 pm

This program is open to all ages and experience levels.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.

Admission is $10 per car

Join us for this hands-on workshop and learn how to grow your own edible shiitake mushrooms! During the program, we’ll discuss how native fungi function in the ecosystem. Then, we will learn about the processes of both indoor and outdoor mushroom cultivation through a hands-on workshop. We will be inoculating logs for outdoor cultivation, as well as inoculating containers to be grown inside your home. Once completed, the logs and containers are yours to bring home where you can watch them flourish!

1 – 3 pm

Open to Adults and Teens; Children under 13 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

Have you ever wondered how warriors shaped their tools and arrowheads out of simple pieces of stone? They actually use a process called Flint Knapping to create beautiful shapes out of pieces of obsidian, Just like the “Dragon Glass” blades seen on TV. Flint knappers use a blunt object to strike a piece of obsidian or stone, slowly removing pieces of the mineral to reveal a beautiful shape. In this workshop Ben Waring will use his years of flint knapping experience to teach you this ancient skill, and guide you through the process of crafting your own piece of unique obsidian art.

* All tools and materials will be supplied EXCEPT gloves! Please BRING GLOVES which fit your hands well.
