Our one-hour recreational class providing an introduction to gymnastics, where we start each student with the core elements of gymnastics, followed by total body conditioning and more difficult tricks. We want children to enjoy learning in a safe and non-competitive environment. Your child will begin each class with a group warm-up employing their large muscle groups to increase flexibility and overall strength, in addition to raising their heart rate. Our informative coaches will teach them progression drills & skills to stretch, strengthen and develop at a level comfortable to each individual. Activities include tumbling, low bar, floor beam, and motor skills.

3:15 – 4:15 pm

No class on October 9 and November 27

For Grades 4 -8

Today’s circus is more than quirky entertainment; it’s about inner and outer strength born through cooperation and community. In this class, students will learn Tumbling, Partner Acro, Juggling (many many forms), Flow Arts(Poi, Contact Staff, Devil Sticks, etc), Unicycling, Barrel Walking, Stilt Walking, Rolla Bolla, etc. The Circus Arts are focused on cultivating the strength, body awareness, confidence, and personal style needed to unleash your child’s circus potential.

Instructor:  Richard Ferrono

Richard has been involved with gymnastics for 43 years and has owned a gym for 20 years. He has had many elite national competitors. For the last two years, he has coached the 2-time state champion in power tumbling! Richard discovered the circus arts over ten years ago and got very excited about moving away from competition, incorporating new paradigms in health and fitness, and having fun doing it. Richard realizes how important it is to embrace play, and how the circus arts are based on community and teamwork. He was a guest teacher this past summer during our Circus Camp with the company of Westchester Circus Arts and the campers loved him!
