SCARSDALE – February Break Workshops @ The Digital Arts Experience

Day off from school? Come to The DAE for a half day or full day drop in. Students can explore 3D printing, coding, digital drawing, and more with the help of DAE instructors and mentors. All of our stations and 100% hands-on and focus on project-based learning, so students will create while they learn while collaborating with their peers.

*Drop off begins at 9 am. Pick up between 12 – 12:30 pm

No experience necessary; bird watchers of all levels are encouraged to participate.


Take your birding adventures to the next level by participating in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count! This global “citizen science” research project engages bird watchers of all ages in helping to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Using smartphone apps and official, field-data forms, track and record the birds in Wave Hill’s backyard, guided by naturalist Gabriel Willow. Share your observations with fellow participants over cocoa and coffee at the conclusion of the program.


Wave Hill is a spectacular 28-acre public garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades in the Bronx, Wave Hill’s vibrant landscape is one of the most beautiful spots in New York City.

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Be an Owl Pellet Investigator @ Stony Kill Farm


Be an owl pellet investigator and discover what mammal and how many mammals your owl has eaten.

For ages 8 – 12


$5 per child.


The pellets are completely safe from bacteria (autoclaved) and safe to handle. Children love discovering what their owl ate and they will learn all about this nocturnal/diurnal bird and will also get to see taxidermied specimens of different species of owls.




SCARSDALE – RoboThink After-School Class @ The Digital Arts Experience

The DAE is now offering new and exciting robotics classes powered by RoboThink! Build RoboThink robots and make them move using sensors, motors, electronics and tablets. Learn engineering concepts through engaging activities and challenges.  RoboThink is a hands-on learning experience where kids maximize self-learning and discover that building robots is easy, educational and fun!

POUGHKEEPSIE – Starlab: Follow the Drinking Gourd @ Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum

At this special StarLab Planetarium show, we’ll be reading the storybook, Follow the Drinking Gourd by Jeanette Winter. The story tells of slaves escaping via the Underground Railroad, using constellations to guide their way. Children will learn how to find the “Drinking Gourd” constellation in the night sky, along with other important constellations.
