The Hudson Valley Writing Project (HVWP) offers remarkable summer experiences for students at the region’s most important cultural and historic sites, nature preserves, and college campus in the Hudson Valley.

Workshops are led by HVWP Teacher Consultants, some of the best teachers in the Hudson Valley. With creative guidance, writers will have opportunities and inspiration to write. At the end of each program, writers will choose one piece to refine, revise, and share in an end-of-program celebration.

The Hudson Valley Writing Project at SUNY New Paltz is an educational organization whose purpose is to promote literacy development and to improve writing in all disciplines and at all levels of education, pre-kindergarten through college.

Our Teen Camp is a great option for teens that love art and might be too old for, or bored by traditional day camps. Each one-week session will focus intensively on a single topic. Our goal is to instill in each camper the skills needed to continue to explore the subject independently.

Teen Campers should dress appropriately for art and bring a snack each day. Full-day campers should also bring a lunch to be escorted to lunch and their next afternoon camp. See Camp FAQ for more info.

Please note: Subjects listed are options – choose one subject for each half-day weekly session. Materials are included for all camps, except where noted in the camp descriptions.
