CORNWALL – Butterfly Weekend 2019! @ Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Wildlife Education Center

 

Flutter in this weekend to discover the beauty of butterflies, moths, and caterpillars!

 Presentation about monarch butterflies followed by tagging and releasing at 11:30 am & 1:30 pm

 

Butterfly tent (one ticket with each paid admission)

 

Butterfly, moth, and caterpillar crafts for kids

 

Admission to Grasshopper Grove included

 

Participate in citizen science by tagging monarch butterflies as part of Monarch Watch

Summertime is a great time for exploration and discovery Teatown-style!  Lace up your hiking boots, and join us to watch a butterfly, catch a frog, and be enchanted by bees.  Each adventure will start with a story and end with an activity, with plenty of time for discovery in between.

 

One frog jumped over the pond ker-plop!  What are the frogs in Teatown Lake up to?  We’ll take some nets and go on a frog hunt searching for the sounds of summer.

Fair Hours:

Friday, 8/16: 9 am – 10 pm

Saturday, 8/17: 9 am – 11 pm

Sunday, 8/18: 9 am – 6 pm

 

Rides begin at noon each day.

 

 

Admission Prices:

Ages 4 & Under and 75 & Older – FREE!

Ages 5 – 11: $3

Ages 12 – 74: $6

 

Admission includes free parking, access to exhibits and contests, and free entertainment!

(most rides require 3 tickets each)

Sheet of 20 Tickets – $25

Naturalist's Passport: Pond Life with Kingston Parks and Recreation

KINGSTON – FREE! Naturalist Passport: Pond Life @ Forsyth Nature Center

3:30 – 4:30 pm

 

 

Ponds are home to many aquatic invertebrates, plants and other species. Get hands-on, using dip nets to comb the pond and learn all about these species.

 

A Naturalist’s Passport is 14 Thursdays of free hands on interactive, outdoor nature programs. Programs are designed for families and are free. Youth participants receive a Naturalist’s Passport and upon completion of six programs, will receive a free gift and a certificate. For more information, call KC Keegan-Twombly at 845-481-7336
