ROSENDALE- Mystwood with Wild Earth

ROSENDALE- Mystwood with Wild Earth

Mystwood is a nature connection program for 6-9 year olds that uses elves, fairies, wizards and magic as storytelling and teaching tools.

Protected by the Mists of Amnesia yet accessible through a secret, ancient doorway, the land of Mystwood waits to be rediscovered.

Inhabited by fantastic, magical creatures, Mystwood is a place where elder trees sing beautiful songs to the wind, where trolls and wizards still guard the roots and rivers, where faeries & nymphs whisper secrets to those with ears patient enough to listen. Mystwood has been forgotten and can only be remembered through the exploration & caring of the youth.

Through play, mystery and wonder, Wild Earth instructors will guide young Seekers into the ever growing world of Mystwood. Instructors will create a safe, nurturing container in which children can follow their curiosities and explore, each at their own authentic pace.

The Mystwood program uses fantasy elements and experiences to facilitate curiosity in the following areas:

  • Awareness and sensory acuteness
  • Self-care & care of others
  • Quiet mind & patience
  • Cooperation
  • Empathy & embracing differences
  • Puzzle solving
  • Detecting patterns & tracking changes
  • Healthy assertiveness
  • Supportive leadership
  • Aidless Navigation
  • Tree & plant ID
  • Use & stewardship of wild plants
  • Friction fire
  • Fort and shelter building
  • Wildlife tracking
  • Natural container making
  • Nature research and journaling
  • Singing and songwriting
  • Acrobatics, balancing & juggling
  • Handwork & natural crafts
  • Drawing & painting
  • Storytelling & remembering

The guides of Mystwood strive to use our curriculum to inspire and develop connections with self, community, and place/nature within your children.
