CORNWALL – Butterfly Weekend 2019! @ Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Wildlife Education Center

 

Flutter in this weekend to discover the beauty of butterflies, moths, and caterpillars!

 

 

Saturday, August 17 & Sunday, August 18, 2019

 

11 am – 3 pm

 

Admission:

 

Museum Members: $8 Adults, $5 Children.

Not-yet-Members:$10 Adults, $7 Children

 

 

 Presentation about monarch butterflies followed by tagging and releasing at 11:30 am & 1:30 pm

 

Butterfly tent (one ticket with each paid admission)

 

Butterfly, moth, and caterpillar crafts for kids

 

Admission to Grasshopper Grove included

 

Participate in citizen science by tagging monarch butterflies as part of Monarch Watch

SCARSDALE – Summer Camp Week 5: Stayin’ Alive @ Greenburgh Nature Center

Campers learn about wilderness survival as they explore our 33 acres of varied terrain and participate in exercises such as fire building, shelter construction, animal tracking and plant identification. Campers will also spend time interacting with the Nature Center’s diverse animal population.

 

 

WEEK 5: MONDAY, August 5- FRIDAY, August 9, 2019

$375 ($350 if you reister by April 1st)

Learn new drawing techniques and practice drawing from life.  Learn to draw proportionately, paying attention to negative space and how to render a landscape from highlights to shadows.  Drawing is the foundation for all art media and is a wonderful means to relax and explore nature.
