HUDSON- Princess and Protectors Tea Party @ FASNY Museum of Firefighting                    

Join female firefighters for a princess tea party. Enjoy “tea and crumpets” with the firefighters, while learning how these brave ladies became protectors of their communities. Kids will also create a craft and go through the Jr. Firefighter Challenge with these fierce and feminine females. Princes are welcome too!

SUPER SATURDAYS are fun, family-friendly programs where kids and parents can learn all about fire safety and prevention. Admission to the FASNY Museum of Firefighting and the Super Saturday programs is FREE on the special program days for the residents of Columbia, County* and Museum Members!

 

Admission:

Adults: $10; Children Ages 3 & Up: $5;

Family: $25 (2 adults + their 2 children)

Children under age 3: FREE

Museum and FASNY Members: FREE

The Museum also participates in the Empire State Reciprocal Program and NARM. Members of these programs will also receive FREE admission, as per the Museum’s policy.

Museum members enjoy free admission to the Museum and programs every day

POUGHKEEPSIE – Toddler Tours @ Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum

 

We’ve taken our old Toddler Time Program and moved it to where the toddlers really want to be – out playing in the museum! Each month Toddler Tours will highlight a different exhibition in the museum with special interactive play and a simple project to make.

$5 fee per child (adults free) plus museum admission ($9; Free for members and babies under age 1)

 

January Theme: “Tell Me a Story”

POUGHKEEPSIE – Making Masterpieces: Snow Globes @ The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum

 

Children and parents will construct a wintery scene which they will then submerge in a snow globe, complete with a blizzard of snow!

 

WEDNESDAYS: January 9th & 23rd 2019

Cost:  $5.00 materials fee per child (adults free) plus museum admission ($9; Free for members and babies under age 1)

 

About Making Masterpieces:  This facilitated art program invites parents and caregivers to work with their pre-school aged children to create something special to take home!  Each month features a new project!

POUGHKEEPSIE – Home School Club @ The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum

Join us each week as we feature a facilitated lesson with an exciting science or art project!  Children will work on the project while parents meet nearby for networking and discussion.

 

TUESDAYS: January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2019

2:30 – 3:15 pm

 

Although this program focuses on the needs of home schooled children ages 4 – 7, all are welcome to attend this drop-in program.

POUGHKEEPSIE – Baby Signs @ The Mid=Hudson Children’s Museum

This movement and baby sign language class is designed for pre-walking babies (up to 12 months) and their parent/caregiver.

 

FRIDAYS: January 4th & 18th, 2019

 

2:30 pm – 3:15 pm

 

The program features Parent-Baby dance time, simple baby games and songs.  Each week focuses on different sensory activities, using parachutes, balls, scarves, rattles and more.  Participants will also learn baby sign language.

 

January 4: theme is Scarves and Balloons.

January 18: theme is Things that Roll.

 

Cost: $8 per parent-child pair plus museum admission ($9; Free for members and babies under one year-old)

 

Yoga mats provided (one per parent-child pair) or you may bring your own.
