No experience necessary; bird watchers of all levels are encouraged to participate.


Take your birding adventures to the next level by participating in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count! This global “citizen science” research project engages bird watchers of all ages in helping to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Using smartphone apps and official, field-data forms, track and record the birds in Wave Hill’s backyard, guided by naturalist Gabriel Willow. Share your observations with fellow participants over cocoa and coffee at the conclusion of the program.


Wave Hill is a spectacular 28-acre public garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades in the Bronx, Wave Hill’s vibrant landscape is one of the most beautiful spots in New York City.

POUGHKEEPSIE – Toddler Tours @ Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum


We’ve taken our old Toddler Time Program and moved it to where the toddlers really want to be – out playing in the museum! Each month Toddler Tours will highlight a different exhibition in the museum with special interactive play and a simple project to make.

BEACON – Mythical Creatures in Clay with Beacon Art Adventures


Magnificent monsters, dangerous dragons, & serpentine sea creatures! We’ll use clay hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, texture, and more to create unique ceramic art inspired by ancient mythical stories and fantastic tall tales.

Mythical Creatures in Clay is a Mixed Age Class designed for ages 6 – 11 years. Creations can be either fun (sculpture) or functional (think dragon teapot!) All pieces will be kiln fired. Classes are $110 per student, per class which includes all materials and fees.
