A week of in-depth instruction on Violin, Cello, or Guitar using the renowned Suzuki method. Classes include semi-private & group lessons, chamber ensembles, Baroque music, music theory, movement, and more.

(Full-day only)

Grades K – 8

(Previous experience with Suzuki required.)

Tuition:

WHITE PLAINS – Summer & Music Arts Program 2019 (Gr K-6) @ The Music Conservatory of Westchester

 

Come play an instrument, sing, act and create your own masterpiece! The Conservatory’s summer program is fun and engaging for children while providing the highest quality arts instruction.

 

Session 1:  THURSDAY, June 27th – FRIDAY, July 12th  (closed July 4th & 5th)

Session 2:  MONDAY, July 15th – FRIDAY, July 26th

Session 3: MONDAY, July 29th – FRIDAY, August 9th

 

Mornings: 9 am – 12:30 pm

    • First Sings First (chorus)
    • Choose an Instrument – piano, violin, guitar, recorder, voice
    • Arts & Crafts
    • Maestro – Music Skills, Songwriting, Note Reading

 

Afternoons:  1 – 3:30 pm

    • Musical Theatre Workshop
    • Dance & Creative Movement
    • Buckets & Beats (drumming)

 

Three two-week sessions are offered, with early drop-off and extended day options – and you can sign up for any or all of them. Half-day and full-day options are available.

Your child will be placed in a small group organized by age in order to maximize fun and learning. An experienced counselor leads each group so children are fully engaged and make new friends easily.

Introduction to Guitar for Beginners

(10 Sessions) Learn the basics of playing guitar: chords, strumming, finger-picking, how to play solos, fundamentals of music and technique. Lots of “hands-on” experience in a variety of styles, including Alternative, Folk, Blues, Pop, Classical, and Flamenco. You will finish this course able to play simple tunes and chords. BREWSTER – Middle School Rock Shop @ Music Cottage

This workshop offers students the opportunity to participate in a focused,  10-week program in a group setting.
$180 for registered students
$200 for non-registered students

Middle School Workshop 
Rock ensemble for vocalists and guitar, drum and keyboard players.
Thursdays 7:00-8:00 pm
3/14, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 and dress rehearsal Friday, 5/17 (time TBD)   
This workshop will perform at the
Towne Crier on Saturday, May 18th at noon.

RED HOOK – Language of Music Classes @ Community Music Space

Our Language of Music classes offers kids an interactive and hands-on opportunity to learn about music.

 

With the support from our experienced staff and energetic assistants, students will learn the basics of piano, guitar, and wind instruments, play music and theater games, and use our professional studio to record our very own original recordings. At the end of each session, we will put on a performance for family and friends.
