GERMANTOWN – FREE! Little Sprouts @ Clermont State Historic Site

 

Young children will play in the garden, harvest veggies and learn some garden themed stories, songs and finger plays with Little Sprouts!

Recommended for children ages 2-4 (must be accompanied by an adult.)

 

 

 

Join us for an informal playgroup in our Harvesting History Teaching Garden. Led by garden educator Leslie Reed.

Cooking Camp 2019 at Primrose Hill School

RHINEBECK – Cooking Camp 2019 @ Primrose Hill School

 

Monday – Friday

9 am – 2 pm*

 

Session 1: July 1 – 5

Session 2: July 8 – 12

 

For ages 7 & up

 

1 Week Sessions: $350, $335 for siblings

 

Children spend the morning in experiential learning: getting familiar with the recipe of the day, exploring ingredients, tastes, and smells. We use many ingredients from the school’s garden.

 

We take mid-morning breaks for free play and then return to the kitchen to put together our meal.

 

* Aftercare is available on each camp day from 2 to 4 pm. $75 for 5 Sessions or $15 daily drop-in rate

 

SAUGERTIES – Summer Adventure 2019! (Ages 3-11) @ Woodstock Day School

A day in the life of a Summer Adventure camper includes an array of enriching activities such as African Drumming & Dance, Singing, Hip-Hop, Art & Ceramics, Sports, Yoga Movement & Sound, Swimming, Nature & Science, and Gardening!

 

Camps run Monday – Friday

9 am to 3 pm

Before Care (beginning at 8:30) and After Care (until 5:30) is available at additional cost.

Ages 3 – 11

$345/week

 

 

Week 1:  July 1 – July 5 (There is camp on Thursday, July 4th)

Week 2: July 8 – July 12

Week 3:  July 15 – July 19

Week 4:  July 22 – 26

Week 5:  July 29 – August 2

Week 6: August 5 – August 9

POUGHKEEPSIE – Fertile Minds Gardening Time @ The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum

 

Join us as we head outside to The Children’s Garden at Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum to learn about growing our own food and to practice gardening techniques!

This program is FREE with Museum admission.

Museum Admission: $10; Members and babies under age 1 are FREE

 

 

Our Garden is planted and cared for by kids!

 

We use fresh ingredients from the garden in programs throughout the year.

NEW PALTZ – An Afternoon on Bradley Farm

Join us for springtime fun on the farm and a chance to celebrate the Hudson Valley’s own American Girl doll, Girl of the Year 2019 Blaire Wilson!

 

Saturday, May 11, 2019

 

1 – 4 pm

 

$12 for kids 4 and up; free for adults and children 3 and under

 

Activities throughout the afternoon include:

Hands-on planting activity with Farmer Ray; Kid crafts; Petting zoo and animal selfie station; Farm “tea party” with New Paltz parent Jennifer Castle, author of the books for Blaire Wilson, American Girl’s Girl of the Year 2019. Blaire lives on her family’s farm in Ulster County! Jennifer will be doing a reading, writing activity, and Q&A about creating Blaire and her stories. Kids are encouraged to bring their favorite doll or stuffy to be part of the fun. (Tea party at 2:30 pm; book sales and signing before and after.)

 

Farm fresh lunch fare and adult beverages will be available for sale, and the farmstand will be open and Mother’s Day plants will be available for purchase.
