With Lisa, young students condition their minds and bodies while having a blast!

Instructor: Lisa Brown

Lisa Brown has been dancing since the early age of 5. At that point, Lisa recognized her love for dance and realized early on that it was what she was destined to do. Lisa joined her father, Drew “Bryant” Andrews, starting “Unique Fitness”, in 2002 in Kingston, NY. Lisa taught dancers ranging from elementary age to High School. In 2003, Lisa and her father created a dance troupe called Energy Dance Company where Lisa was a primary dancer and key instructor. In 2006 Unique Fitness merged with the Center for Creative Education, a non-profit community organization based in Kingston, NY. She maintained her position as a dance instructor and Troupe Leader along with coordinating numerous children’s programs and performance events. Lisa’s dance training stems from Broadway Dance Studio of New York, NY to Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy of Culver City, California. For nearly 20 years Lisa has impressed others with her dynamic dance skills combined with her passionate work with children of all ages. She is an avid believer in good mental and physical health and is determined to continue serving as a positive role model for youth.

KERHONKSON – FREE* Morning Multiple Scenic Views Hike at Minnewaska

Hiking with Views at Minnewaska

Sunday, September 15, 2019

9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Join Laura Conner, Environmental Educator, on a guided hike to see all the stunning views from the numerous scenic vistas along the East side of Lake Minnewaska. Our first stop will be the last remaining historic summerhouse gazebo, which sits perched above the Lake. From here, we’ll continue our walk to reach the site of the former, historic Cliffhouse Hotel. Marvel at the spectacular views that former guests would have had across Lake Minnewaska to the distant Catskill Mountains. Next, we’ll drop down to the Beacon Hill Footpath, which offers a broad vista of the Wallkill Valley including distant views of Storm King and Break Neck Mountains, as well as the iconic stone tower, Skytop, to the North. The last leg of our journey includes another cliff edge viewpoint that offers scenic vistas of the Catskill Mountains and the Dickie Barre area. This modest hike, which follows along a combination of carriage roads and a footpath, is approximately two-and-a- half miles long and does include some hills and rocky sections of footpath. Your guide stays with the group the entire trip, offering answers to your questions about the cultural and natural history of this special Park Preserve.

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Pre-registration is required by calling Minnewaska at 845-255-0752.

Meet at the Minnewaska Nature Center.
