POUGHKEEPSIE – Teen Work: Yoga for Teens 13+ @ Mindful Yoga With Liz

Yoga for Teens is so much more than just stretching and exercising. Being a Teenager isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. From moral issues, social media challenges, to peer pressure and much more, teens face the same challenges as we do. When given the proper tools, our teens learn to deal with every day life challenges in a whole new way! This results in better focus, concentration and better judgment.

CORNWALL – Hike-a-Thon @ Hudson Highlands Nature Museum

Now in its 13th year, the Hike-a-Thon is one of the Nature Museum’s primary fundraisers and all of the money raised goes directly to supporting nature education and play. Click here to learn more about the Nature Museum by the numbers!

Every year thousands of children come to the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum to hike the trails, meet the animals, and participate in our science and nature based education programs, including school field trips, preschool, and summer camp. They leave with a greater understanding of the environment and their place in it; they’re a little more willing to unplug from the digital world they live in and reconnect to the natural world they belong to.

Time spent in nature is absolutely vital for a child’s healthy development. And because children who experience nature will love it, and children who love nature will grow to be adults who protect it, it’s crucial to the well-being of our planet too.

Please donate to support nature play and education at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum! Your donation will be used to give children from across the Hudson Valley the opportunity to experience the wonder of nature first-hand, planting the seeds environmental ethics in each of them.

Please join us for an afternoon of fun at our Earth Day Celebration, immediately following the Hike-a-Thon!

Hiking Options:

-The Nature Play Trail is for families & includes stops along the Young Naturalist’s favorite nature play spots

-The Pond Trail is self guided and perfect for beginner hikers and is stroller friendly

-The Naturalist Guided Trail is a moderate hike, guided by an experienced Museum Environmental Educator

-The Stillman Trail is a more rigorous hike for seasoned hikers
