Our Teen Camp is a great option for teens that love art and might be too old for, or bored by traditional day camps. Each one-week session will focus intensively on a single topic. Our goal is to instill in each camper the skills needed to continue to explore the subject independently.

Teen Campers should dress appropriately for art and bring a snack each day. Full-day campers should also bring a lunch to be escorted to lunch and their next afternoon camp. See Camp FAQ for more info.

Please note: Subjects listed are options – choose one subject for each half-day weekly session. Materials are included for all camps, except where noted in the camp descriptions.

KAC’s Kids Camp is a great alternative to full-day summer-long programs. The small camp groups enable students to receive individual attention in a warm, family-like atmosphere. All of KAC’s Art camps are one-week sessions with half-day, full-day and extended-day options.

Campers should dress for a mess and bring a snack each day as we have a small “recess” outside, with lawn games and crafts. Full-day campers should also bring a lunch to be escorted to lunch and their next afternoon camp. See Camp FAQs for more info.

Please note: Subjects listed are options – choose one subject for each half-day weekly session. Materials are included for all camps, except where noted in the camp descriptions.

Weekly Camp Session Rates:

Instructor: Lauren Hollick

Lauren Hollick is a recent graduate of the Art Education program at SUNY New Paltz. She concentrates in ceramics, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Lauren believes that the art room always needs to provide a positive environment that can cater to students on all levels of ability and creativity. In her courses, she works to combine mediums together allowing experimentation and a complete understanding on how techniques can be used together to develop original works with meaning. Her projects have opportunities for problem solving where artists can figure out creative solutions individually and collaboratively. She has been through The Art Institute programs in High School and has been working for The Art Effect for many years.

The Art Effect empowers youth in the Hudson Valley through the arts and media. Our programming sequence supports the personal and professional development of youth and provides them with the tools and support necessary to explore the arts, gain meaningful experiences, and eventually excel in their chosen tracks.

Partial scholarships are available to those in economic need. Please email for an application, call The Art Effect or follow the link here to access an application online.
