During this earth science-based program, families will embark on a short, gentle hike with a Museum Educator through the Bartow-Pell woods and learn about the plants and animals that call Pelham Bay Park home. Families will be able to observe flora and fauna in their natural habitat, as well as learn about the influence that humans have had on the land over time. The fall and winter seasons are the best time of year to explore the forest and coastline as seals can be seen sunbathing and migratory birds and wildlife are more visible during this time of year.
