Science Saturdays at Groundwork Hudson Valley

The Science Barge has been a dedicated science education center in Downtown Yonkers since 2008. Each year, it produces an abundance of fresh tomatoes, basil, peppers, beans, and lettuce. The harvest is donated and shared with the community. The Barge runs entirely on energy from solar panels and wind turbines, while its hydroponic greenhouse is irrigated with collected and purified water, allowing it to operate completely self-sufficiently.
