Haunted Walking Tour in Beacon

Saturdays & Sundays: October 12, 13, 25, & 26, 2019

Tours will be held every 1/2 hour beginning at 6 pm

The tour is approximately 1 hour and .5 miles of walking.

$15 per person

Join the BHS as five ghostly spirits lead you by lantern-light through the streets of Beacon. Learn about the local lore and legends of haunted places, as our ghostly spirits share over 300 years of Beacon’s history.

Our tour guide will lead the group by lantern-light through the streets of Beacon sharing local lore and legends and ghostly tales of haunted places throughout our area.  Over 300 years of our community’s evolution will be shared by 4 ghostly spirits of the past each representing a specific time period of Beacon’s history.

The tour path is not accommodated for the mobility impaired or carts & strollers.

We will be walking along gravel pathways, hills, railroad tracks, and grassy, irregular wooded areas with limited lighting, and ask that strollers not be used on the tour for safety purposes.

Although each person will be provided with a lantern light, you are welcome to bring your own flashlights as well.

We suggest you wear comfortable shoes, warm (in case of cold) and rainproof in case of light rain.

The tour will be canceled for extreme weather conditions. Check the website for notifications.

The Beacon Historical Society does not provide parking or public restrooms for the tour.

Photos and recordings of our tour with video equipment or cell phones is prohibited. Please turn down phone volumes in respect of both the actors and guests

Level of Fear

Most of the tour is presenting historical stories, however young children may find the shared ghost stories and local legends and walking through dark wooded areas frightening– parents/guardians must use their own judgment for their children.
