Grasshopper Grove is a ‘bridge’ between a mowed lawn and the wild woods, that inspires children to discover nature play spaces in their own backyards and the wider world.
Open Saturdays & Sundays from 10 am-4 pm through Sunday, November 4th (will re-open mid April 2019)
Admission: $5 for ages 3 & up; FREE for members
Are open daily from dawn to dusk unless otherwise noted.
Admission to/ use of the hiking trails is FREE.

The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is a center for nature with a focus on environmental education and a mission to develop responsible caretakers of the natural world. It uses its living collections of native animals, natural habitats and trails to present a wide variety of programs for people of all ages at its two locations.
Founded in 1959, the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is a premier nature center with a focus on Environmental Education with a mission to develop responsible caretakers of the environment. Over the years it has developed quality educational programs for students and the public that focus on the unique ecology of the Hudson Highlands and promote knowledge and appreciation of our natural world. The Museum is home to Grasshopper Grove, The Museum's Outdoor Discovery Center and Grasshopper Grove are located in Cornwall, New York and the Wildlife Education Center in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York.
Each hiking trail at the Outdoor Discovery Center is an adventure, with options that range from stroller-friendly up to challenging.
Grasshopper Grove is the Hudson Valley's first Nature Play area!
For children ages 2-4 with parent or guardian.

Unstructured, outdoor playtime for ages 4 & 5 with a focus on free play and games using natural elements.
A hiking group for families with babies, toddlers and young children at the Outdoor Discovery Center.
Designed to provide an opportunity for our youngest Museum visitors to play in nature, learn a little bit about their natural environment, and then take those play ideas home with them. Recommended for families with children ages 3 & up.
Volunteers should generally be 15 years or older. (Please feel free to inquire about opportunities for 13 & 14 year olds.)
Grasshopper Grove Nature Play Party (*Available only Mid-April through Mid- November) offers fun, educational, and easy (for you) parties designed for children 4-8 years old at the Outdoor Discovery Center at HHNM.
